The Board of Governors of GPPS currently has seven members. It has
overall responsibility for the school’s aims, policies, procedures
and plans. The Governors work in partnership with the head to provide
the best possible education for all the school’s pupils.
The Board meets several times a year. The Governors’ responsibilities
include the careful management of the school’s finances, maintaining
and improving the buildings and developing the school’s facilities.
Individual Governors bring a variety of strengths to their role;
not least their personal interest in the well being and continuing
development of the school.
The Governors take a keen interest in GPPS life attending school
events such as Speech Day, the Carol Service, the infants’
Nativity play and Sports Day as well as supporting PTA events.

Nigel Barnes, Chairman,
a local
solicitor with considerable professional and business experience. He is the
Managing Partner of the practice and has worked in the area for many years.
He co-ordinates the work of the Board and works closely with the Head.

Jed McCarthy,
Vice-Chairman, supports the Chairman in his role. Headmaster of Keble School and previously Deputy Head of a large coeducational prep school in Harrow. Jed has 20 year’s experience of London’s independent sector for boys and girls and will be the Board’s Education Officer.

Laurie Slavin,
Treasurer
and Company Secretary,
a Chartered Accountant practising in Vera Avenue in Grange Park at Ramsay
Brown & Partners. His two sisters attended Grange Park Prep School some
years ago. He is married with four children.

Ann Uwins, a former pupil, Board member and Bursar of the Board. She brings with her a variety of experience having worked in a City Merchant Bank for 40 years, as well as being a Brownie Guider and Commissioner spanning 40 years.

Iris Mortemore, a local businesswoman. She liaises on matters of Pastoral Care and Health & Safety.

Wendy Weeks, a former pupil and teacher at Grange Park Prep takes responsibility as the Board's Child Protection Officer.
